Prior joining Metropistas in 2016, Mr. Vélez worked in Popular Inc.’s Mergers & Acquisitions department, managing corporate strategic and M&A projects (acquisitions and divestitures) within Puerto Rico and the US from 2009 to 2016. Additionally, Mr. Velez has accounting and auditing background, having worked at KPMG LLC. since 2009 to 2013 mainly focusing in financial services accounts from private and public companies. Mr. Velez holds a BA in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus; in 2009, Mr. Velez obtained the CPA certification and is currently participating in the Talent Development Program from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.
