Illich Omar Colon is the general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary of Metropistas.  In his role as general counsel, he is responsible for overseeing Metropistas’ legal affairs including government affairs, litigation and corporate matters. Prior to joining Metropistas, Mr. Colon worked in Popular, Inc. as vice president and legal counsel and served as secretary/assistant secretary in certain mutual funds managed by Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.  Previously, he was an associate in O’Neill & Borges.  Mr. Colon has worked in various M&A transactions and has over 15 years of experience in banking, corporate, securities and public finance matters.  He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Fordham University.
